Many people who start out with WordPress ask what the difference between a “Post” and “Page” is.
With a default WordPress installation you will get two ways that you are able to create your content – Post and Pages.
When creating content on your site it is important to use these properly for the right type of content so that your site is more user friendly and search engine friendly!
To help you make the most of your site and content I’m going to go over the differences Posts and Pages have and when you should use them.
What is the Difference?
Put simply, a Post is content that is created at a point in time, like a blog post or a news item. Posts are timed and listed in chronological order with the latest posts at the top. Posts are meant to be shared and commented on (if you allow comments on your site)
A page is made up of static content that is unlikely to change, for example, an “About Us” page or a “Contact” page.
